CAVE is
- A Special Interest Group (SIG) of the Chippenham Area Community Partnership (ChAP) .
- A
new group has been launched in the Chippenham and surrounding area
whose aims are to improve the quality of life through environmental
means.
Who are we?
- Local People, all voluntary
- Supported by the district council BUT not run by the council
- People who have an interest in making things happen for the good in our area.
- Mixed background, all private individuals.
What we stand for
- We want to improve our quality of life and achieve some of the objectives set out in the community plan as well as many of our own.
- We believe in a more sustainable lifestyle, but we recognise it is not always easy to do this.
- We want to represent the community and help people change things in the area and protect the environment for future generations.
- We want to put more pride into our community.
What are we doing?
- Tackling issues in the community plan
- Focusing on helping schools and local businesses with a programme of initiatives.
- Facilitating other groups in the area, putting people in touch, filling the gaps.
- Lobbying out local politicians and council for improvements to environmental legislation.
What do we want people to do to help us?
- If they like our objectives we would like volunteers with time and ideas to help us make things happen.
- If they have new ideas or just want to get involved we would welcome them.
- If they have a project that needs help we can help them, come and see us and we can talk about it.
